MAYDAY pack designed for 8 - 12 year olds

The MAYDAY pack includes an interactive CD ROM, information and activity cards and teachers’ notes with ideas for follow-up projects. The resource has been designed to be as flexible as possible to meet the needs of today’s classroom and children can use it by themselves or during whole group activities.

MAYDAY also introduces young people to the work of the Coastguard and the RNLI charity. Both organisations are vital to the safety of those who visit the coastline or use the sea for work or for pleasure. The 3,200 members of the Coastguard rescue teams and the majority of the 4,500 RNLI crews around the UK are volunteers; the resource examines not only what they do but what motivates them to take part in perilous activities for the sake of other people.
