At 4pm today (Sunday) Yarmouth Coastguard received a 999 call from a worried grandparent reporting that his two thirteen year old granddaughters had walked out on the mudflats at Snettisham in Norfolk and he had since lost sight of them.  read more..

Coastguard Rescue Man Searching for Ring in Mud

At about 1445 this afternoon, Yarmouth Coastguard received a call from Norfolk Police reporting that a man was stuck waist-deep in the mud on Breydon Water, Great Yarmouth. Gorleston Inshore Lifeboat and Gorleston Coastguard Rescue Team were both paged, and Broads Authority and Police craft patrolling Breydon Water were diverted to assist in locating the man, who was reported as being some 500 yards from the nearest footpath. read more..

Aberdeen Coastguard Send Aid to Grounded Yacht and Injured Woman and Child

In three separate incidents this afternoon Aberdeen Coastguard has helped a yacht which was running aground at Peterhead, sent a Coastguard helicopter to airlift a woman who had broken her ankle, in a remote area, to hospital and sent a Coastguard rescue team to help a girl with a head injury. read more..

Family Rescued From Mud

Brixham Coastguard requested the Hope Cove and Prawle Point Coastguard Rescue Teams to locate a small motorboat stranded in mud in the Kingsbridge estuary this afternoon. The Coastguard had received a call from the company who had hired the family the boat to say that the boat was stuck in mud. The boat, with two adults and four young children onboard ,was located at 2.40 pm, an hour after the initial call, by Prawle Point Coastguard Rescue Team. Unfortunately, they were unable to affect a rescue due to depth of mud.   read more..

Yacht Runs Aground in Falmouth

The 36 foot motor yacht Seaworks ran aground and sunk at 0549 on 22 August and is currently submerged off Zone Point, Falmouth. The yacht, which was bound for Cross Haven, was carrying 2 crew members at the time of the incident. Both crew members were safely rescued by the RNLI Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat, having sustained no injuries from the incident. read more..
