Trawler Skipper Pleads Guilty to Failure to Keep a Proper Lookout

On 21st May 2008 the trawler Adoration CN78 was fishing for prawns in upper Loch Fyne. The trawler was seen from the shore to have contact with buoys marking a fleet of creels which lay about 200 yards off shore at Inverary. A total of 34 creels were lost. read more..

Coastguard Assist Ambulance Crew on Yorkshire Moors

In atrocious weather conditions at around 9.15 this evening, the North Yorkshire Ambulance Service asked the Coastguard to assist with the evacuation of a casualty from 7 miles inland from a town called Grosmont in the Esk Valley on the North Yorkshire Moors. The ambulance was stuck at Egton due to heavy snow at the time and unable to proceed any further.  read more..
