DOG OVER CLIFF AT SEATON SLUICE
At 11.52am Humber Coastguard received a 999 call from the distressed owners of a dog reporting that their animal had gone over the cliff at Browns Point near Seaton Sluice.
Humber Coastguard sent Coastguard Cliff Rescue Teams from Blyth and Newbiggin who were able to reach the Staffordshire bull terrier called Muffin on a ledge half way down the cliff. The dog was placed in a dog rescue bag and lowered to the beach below. The dog and the young owners were reunited.
Alex Harrison at Humber Coastguard said,
Dog owners can avoid losing their precious pets by keeping dogs on leads near cliff edges.
