Holyhead District extends from the River Dee on the Northeast Wales coast to Friog on the West Wales coast including the Isle of Anglesay.  This represents a total of over 300 miles of coastline together with approximately 3500 square miles of sea area.

The Port of Holyhead is the main Irish Sea Port serving the Republic of Ireland through it's capital city of Dublin by the world's largest passenger and fast seacat ferries. Within the District is the attraction to the public of sand, surf and sea which equates to some of the best and well known beaches for tourists and water sports, some of the most popular surfing areas and an ever increasing marine leisure industry with boats of all classes served by several large marinas and ports, the District continues to have a large local fishing industry.  Lastly, the majority of all Irish Sea shipping will pass through or near to the District.
